Girl is Dead After Being Hit By Her School Bus

A 5-year-old Cumberland County girl is
dead after being hit by her school bus.
The bus hit Seneca Allen Monday afternoon
after she was dropped off at her home near Mechanicsburg. She was flown
to Penn State Hershey Medical Center where she died.
Allen was a kindergarten student at
Shepardstown Elementary School in the Mechanicsburg school district.
"This is a horrible tragedy and we are
devastated by what has happened. First and foremost our condolences and
heartfelt sorrow go out to the family and friends and parents of
Seneca," said Mechanicsburg School District Superintendent Joseph Hood.
The bus driver is a 25-year veteran with
B&S Transportation. There were 20 other students on the bus at the
time of the accident.
Counselors will be available today
for students and teachers.
