March 24, 2007
JACKSON COUNTY - One student was taken to
Singing River Hospital with minor injuries Friday after a car ran into
the back of a school bus on Sarracenia Road, just north of Greenfield
Road, Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd confirmed.
Byrd said the Moss Point school bus was
carrying about 20 students when the accident happened after 3 p.m.
Friday. He said two students complained of pain but were not
hospitalized and were released to their parents.
No other injuries were reported. Jackson
County Sheriff's Deputy John Sigalis is handling the investigation. Byrd
said details about the accident wouldn't be available until the
department's investigation was complete and an accident report turned
in, probably sometime Saturday.
Byrd said none of the injuries was life
threatening and the investigation is ongoing.
