Dayton School Bus Driver Suspended
After Accident
February 13, 2007
DAYTON — A bus driver for Dayton
Public Schools was suspended without pay Monday after police cited
her in a bus crash Monday morning at West Fifth and Paul Laurence
Dunbar streets.
The suspension occurred according to
standard procedure, according to Jill Moberley, district
spokeswoman.
She would not release the driver's
name but said the driver has been with the district since 2004. The
driver will remain on suspension "pending further review" of the
accident, Moberley said.
Dayton police could not be reached
for comment.
Fourteen Fairview Elementary students
were aboard the bus, Moberley said, noting that no one on the bus
was injured. The students were transferred to another bus and taken
on to school.
The condition of the occupants in the
other vehicle involved in the wreck was not immediately available.
