Deadly School Bus Accident in Paulding

A school bus driver was killed and a cement truck driver critically injured on Tuesday afternoon after an accident in Paulding County.

The accident happened at Highway 92 and Ridge Road in Hiram.

According to authorities, the bus driver, Diana Wright, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene. They said the truck crossed the center line of the roadway and struck the school bus head-on.

No school children were on the bus at the time of the accident. The bus was en-route to P.B. Ritch Elementary School to pick-up students for the afternoon run.

Officials said possible charges are pending against the truck driver.
