Disabled Girl Bus Injury Probe

AN investigation has been launched after
a disabled girl suffered serious head injuries while travelling on a
school bus.
The 10 year old, from Ripponden, had to have a week off from Highbury
School, Rastrick, after the accident last Tuesday.
The youngster, who is blind and suffers
severe cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus and epilepsy, is believed to have
been knocked unconscious.
A spokesman for Calderdale Council, who
run the bus service, said: "Safety officers are investigating and
investigations centre on the child's wheelchair, which belongs to her
family.
Government watchdog the Health and Safety
Executive has been informed.
A spokesman said: "We are making
preliminary investigations to see who is responsible for looking into
this between ourselves and the Medical Devices Agency."
The school refused to comment.
