February 7, 2007

In Marlboro County, the driver of a school bus carrying 10 kids died after a wreck. We can report all ten children on board are okay.

The bus was carrying students from McColl Elementary Middle School on Highway 381, when the driver lost control. There were no other vehicles involved.

The accident happened in the town of McColl in Marlboro County around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

School district officials told us Beatrice Melvin had a heart attack behind the wheel, lost control of the bus, causing it to run off the road and into some trees. Melvin had to be cut out of the bus, and we're told she died shortly after 7:00 p.m.
