Man Cited After Hitting School Bus

A man was charged with careless driving and driving with a suspended license after rear-ending a school bus this afternoon in Cantonment.

Dwayne McDonald, 32, of Pensacola, hit the bus about 3:55 p.m. on Kingsfield Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report.

No injuries were reported.

The bus was carrying students from Ransom Middle School.

Thirty-five students were on the bus and three children were in McDonald�s Saturn when the accident happened, the report said.

Some students had just gotten of the bus when the accident occurred, the report said.

The bus suffered about $500 in damage.

The accident was the fifth involving a school bus in Escambia County in the past two weeks.
