Knox County School Bus in Morning Accident

According to Knox County school officials, bus 585 was involved in an accident Tuesday morning.

The bus was traveling to Holston Middle School when it hit a landscaping truck on Asheville Highway at the bottom of the I-40 exit ramp.

The bus suffered major damage.

Six children were transported to local hospitals, three by ambulance and three in private vehicles. None of the injuries are reported to be serious.

A tow truck took the bus away before 10:00 a.m. It will be impounded while state officials investigate the crash.
