SCHOOL BUS CRASH REPORTS 2007

6 Injured in School Bus Accident in South Jersey
February 8, 2007

GLOUCESTER TWP. - Five children and a motorist suffered minor injuries after a sport utility vehicle rear-ended a school bus on Wednesday, police said.

The school bus, en route to Ann Mullen Middle School, was stopped at a traffic light at Jarvis and Sicklerville roads when it was struck by the SUV at about 7:50 a.m., police said.

Sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students were on the bus, Gloucester Township Police Lt. Raymond Evans said.

Five students were taken to treated and released from local hospitals. The driver of the SUV, Nicole Ciarrocchi, no age available, of Sicklerville, was also injured by refused treatment at the scene, police said.

Ciarrocchi was issued two motor-vehicle violations: "One was for careless driving and the other was for driving an unregistered vehicle," Evans said.

The bus driver, Denise Magiliocco of Erial, was not injured. The bus sustained minor damage, Evans said. Jarvis Road was closed for about 40 minutes following the accident, Evans said.

The icy, snow-covered road conditions may have contributed to the accident, police said.
