Four Injured in School Bus
Accident
March 1, 2007
A mini-school bus flipped in Newark,
N.J., this morning after it was struck by a transportation van,
injuring four people.
Newscopter Seven was live over the
scene.
Officials say the bus and van
collided at the intersection of South 7th Street and 13th Avenue
just after 8 a.m. The force of the collision flipped the school bus,
contracted by Newark Public Schools.
Eyewitness News has learned the van
was occupied by two handicapped children, a teachers' aide and the
bus driver. They were all taken to University Hospital in Newark
with non-life threatening injuries.
The school bus, owned by Jones
Transportation, was reporting to JFK School at the time of the
crash.
