REPORTS 2007
School Bus, Car crash in Voorhees
February 22, 2007
Two students were taken to a hospital for
evaluation after a car struck a school bus Wednesday near a Voorhees
elementary school, officials said.
The accident was reported about 3:40 p.m.
at the intersection of Signal Hill Drive and Route 73, near Signal Hill
Elementary School, Voorhees Deputy Police Chief Jack Prettyman said.
The bus was stopped at a traffic light
when it was struck from behind, said Irene Afek, the district's public
information officer.
Randy Cruz, of the 200 block of Curtis
Avenue in Pennsauken, was driving a 1994 four-door Volvo when her foot
slipped off the brake pedal, Prettyman said.
Twenty-three students were on the bus at
the time.
Initial police reports said no one was
injured.
Police later said two students were taken
to Virtua West Hospital in Voorhees for evaluation. One student
complained of wrist pain, another had back pain, Prettyman said.
Both were evaluated and released, Afek
said.
Cruz and the driver of the bus, Rhonda
Ravoni of Clementon, were not injured, police said.
The accident remains under investigation,
Prettyman said.
