School Bus Crash in Davenport `Minor'
March 5, 2007
No serious injuries were reported after a
school-bus accident in Davenport Monday afternoon.
Karen Farley, public information officer
for Davenport schools, said a school bus carrying elementary school
children was involved in what appeared to be a minor accident near 37th
and Main Streets. She said three students "said they felt they may have
been injured" when they were questioned after the accident.
The bus was operated by First Student
Inc., which is contracted by Davenport schools for bus transportation.
Ms. Farley said she heard most students on the bus were from Lincoln and
All Saints elementary schools, but said students from other private
schools may have been on board.
A second bus was called in to transport
the students from the scene. Ms. Farley said the parents of the students
on board were contacted after the accident. Further details of the
accident were unavailable from Davenport police Monday night.
