Several Injured In School Bus Mishap
April 13, 2007

PHOENIX -- Several people were injured Thursday afternoon when a school bus on its way to get some special needs students was clipped by a pickup truck in the West Valley, police said.

The accident at Olive Avenue and Litchfield Road in the West Valley sent the bus swerving, officers said.

When the driver over-corrected, the vehicle rolled over on its side, according to police.

No children were on the Litchfield Elementary School District bus, authorities said. However, the driver and two bus aides on the vehicle received minor injuries.

A man, pregnant woman and a 1-year-old on the truck also received very minor injuries, police said.

There is no word yet on what sparked the accident or who was to blame.
