Four-Year-Old Hit By Caddo Parish School Bus; Driver Not Cited

A Caddo Parish School Bus travelling in the 2600 block of Malcolm near Hearne Avenue struck a four-year-old girl as she was trying to cross the street.
The child suffered a fractured skull and a fractured arm or hand. She was eventually taken to LSU Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Shreveport Police say the bus driver wasn't sure if she had hit anything, so she made the block and came back to the scene.
The driver will not face any charge. Police called the accident unavoidable.

A school bus hit a four-year-old girl as she was trying to cross the street.

A school bus hit a 4 year old child while she was crossing the street. The bus driver did not realize the child was hit and kept driving. A passenger on the bus alerted the driver and the drive went back to the accident.

The little girl has a fractured skull and a fractured hand or arm. She was taken to hospital where she is in stable condition. Her injuries are not life threatening.

It must be hard for drivers of buses to know if they hit someone. This is not the first time I have heard a driver did not realize they hit someone.

I am glad the child will be ok.
