WEST AMWELL: School Bus Struck on Route 31

WEST AMWELL-- A South Hunterdon Regional High School bus was rear-ended Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Route 31 and Rocktown Road, school officials said. One student was injured.

South Hunterdon Superintendent Lisa Brady said school officials dispatched another bus to the scene so the 16 students on board could be taken home.

Brady said one student complaining of neck pain was transported by ambulance to the hospital, as required by school policy.

School officials immediately notified parents of the accident and transferred the other students to the second bus after receiving parental permission, Brady said.

Brady said she had no information on the other vehicle involved in the accident..
Police initially reported a minivan had struck the bus.
