Three Injured When School Vehicle and
Car Collide
School bus is removed from accident scene

Hamptonburgh – The drivers of a small
school bus and a car and one student on the bus were injured Thursday
afternoon when the driver of the car failed to see the Goshen School
District Suburban and turned in front of it on Route 207.
State Police at Newburgh said the driver
of the car, Johnny Stephenson, 41, of Newburgh attempted to turn left
into to Kiernan Rod when the crash occurred in the Town of Hamptonburgh
around 3:30 p.m.
He was flown by helicopter to St. Francis
Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment of internal injuries.
The driver of the school vehicle,
Jackqulyn Parker, and one of the three children on board, were injured.
Parker was taken to the Arden Hill Campus of Orange Regional Medical
Center in Goshen, where she was treated for minor injuries. A
13-year-old Goshen Middle School student sustained minor facial
injuries. The uninjured students were ages seven and four.
The investigation is continuing and
charges against Stephenson for failure to yield right of way are
pending.
