Wake County School Bus Accident
Fuquay-Varina Students Hurt in Bus Crash
May 29, 2007

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. -- Several students were injured today when a car hit a school bus carrying students from Fuquay-Varina High School, according to Bill Posten, the public information officer for the Wake County School System.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Stobhill Road and Feather Ridge Drive in Fuquay-Varina when the bus was returning students from school this afternoon.

The bus driver and four students were treated on the scene. The driver and two of those students were the also taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Posten reported that two cars were approaching the bus from the opposite direction. It appeared that one car was attempting to overtake the other car and ended up hitting the side of the bus.

There were 15 students on the bus at the time.
