SCHOOL BUS CRASH REPORTS 2007

School Bus Accident Leaves Boy Injured
June 8, 2007

HONOLULU (AP) _ A six-year-old Oahu boy was hospitalized following a school bus accident in Foster Village.

According to initial reports, the driver lost control of the bus when it blew a tire, and the bus then went up onto a sidewalk and hit the boy at Bougainville and Haloa drives.

However, bus owner Roberts Hawaii says the boy was injured when he ran and fell.

The company says the bus swerved for some unknown reason, jumped the curb and then knocked down a telephone pole.

It says the boy wasn't hit by the bus or the pole.

Roberts says the driver and another person aboard the bus weren't injured.

The boy was taken in serious condition to The Queen's Medical Center.
