School Bus Seatbelt Bill Approved
- (TALLAHASSEE) -- A House committee has passed a measure that would require all new
school buses to have seatbelts. Representative Cynthia Chestnut says that outfitting new
buses with seat belts would cost two-Million dollars a year. Although committee members
initially balked at the price, they eventually passed the bill unanimously. Despite the
vote, Chestnut expects the bill to run into trouble when it faces the full House later
this year.
